Public portrayals of mental illness can skew the way people see their own mental heåalth. If individuals assess their mental health based on what they see in the media (either ‘perfectly happy’ influencers, or severe emotional and violent examples) their assessment could be incorrect.

UHS News consulted Mendocino County Sheriff Matt Kendall and Lieutenant Shannon Barney to find out more about the threat of sex trafficking in Mendocino County, who is most likely to become a victim, and what parents need to know to protect their children from this chilling fate.

On March 13, 2020, Ukiah Unified schools closed their doors unsure as to when students would be able to walk through their halls again. Teachers were forced to teach through a computer screen, which made the already difficult job of being a teacher even harder. Teachers create digital classrooms, fun activities, and try their hardest to make this experience bearable. UHS News interviewed teachers about their experiences teaching through a screen.
