As homecoming gets closer, students might be wondering what the week will look like.
Before the big football game and dance, students can expect a week full of activities, dress-up days, and school spirit. The events leading up to the homecoming game are just as exciting as the game itself.
On Monday, make sure to wear your class color and wake up at 7 am to hang your flag with your class. Then get ready to show off your school spirit at Battle of the Tri at 8 am before the bell rings.
On Tuesday, dress up as your class theme. If you’re a freshman, put on your best Miami outfit. Sophomores get ready to go to the Upper East Side. Juniors, you’re headed to London. And seniors, get ready for Carnival.
Along with dressing in your class theme, there will be a freshman cookout hosted by Link Crew at lunch. Go enjoy some hot dogs!
Wednesday settles down a bit with pajama day and the college and career fair during U-Time.
Thursday is another dress-up day with a purple and gold theme. At lunch, students will show off their lip-sync skills in the Tri while also participating in games before the performances!
By Friday, excitement is at its highest. Students will prepare for skits, rally games, and a cheer and dance team performance in the gym. Floats begin after school at 4 pm; go cruise around town and show off your float! Then bring your spirit and wear your class color to the big game at 7 pm. Spirit Bell winners will be announced after the game!
The fun isn’t over yet! Enjoy the homecoming dance on Saturday at the UHS cafetorium from 8- 11 p.m.
So get ready to make memories you’ll be talking about long after the week is over.
