Ukiah High Wildcats can look forward to the first school dance of the year next Saturday, October 8, 2022 to conclude the festivities of homecoming. It will be held in the cafeteria and starts at eight pm and goes till eleven. You get to put on your Boogie Shoes and Dance the Night Away!
This will be Ukiah High’s first Homecoming dance in a little over a decade. ¨I’m very excited because dances let us create memories that will last us a lifetime” says Katie Williams, a junior who never got the opportunity of having a homecoming dance. What we’re all wondering is why we are having a dance after all these years. I talked to Yaya Carlon and she had a lot to say about this topic.
Yaya Carlon, 12th grade President, told us “the leadership class decided that this was going to be a good idea but the person that really pushed for it was Isabel Van Sant. ” She said, “We wanted to have one homecoming dance before we graduate. We have seen other schools having homecoming dances and we really wanted one, because we haven’t gotten to participate in one yet.¨
Well, there you have it! We are extremely lucky to have a homecoming dance this year, and you have the leadership class to thank! Make sure to purchase your tickets during break and lunch at Student Activities. It’s 15$ per ticket and time is running out. Next Tuesday, October 4, 2022, is the last day to purchase those so do not miss out.
