Want a chance to win up to 50$ just for having fun? Halloween is just right around the corner and the Ukiah High News Team is here for it! This year Ukiah High’s Journalism class is having our first annual Costume Competition!

We are looking for students who love Halloween and have the best spooky spirit. Costumes must be school appropriate. This means following our normal dress code along with there being no masks and fake weapons allowed.

  • First Place- $50
  • Second Place- $25
  • Third Place $15

Ukiah High Journalism editor-in-chief Izabella Nickerson gave us some more information on why we created this exciting competition.

“We wanted kids to have the motivation to come to school dressed up.” She also stated that “We also wanted people to participate in a fun new school activity.”

So next Monday come dressed up in your costumes! All you need to do to enter the contest is take a picture of you and your friends in costume on Ukiah High campus. You then send the picture to @ukiahhilite on Instagram and from there the winner will be picked. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, November 2nd. You can find out who won by checking @ukiahilite on Instagram.

With that said, bring your costumes and your spooky spirits on Monday!
