It’s time Wildcats, Cool Car Thursday is back! This week Ukiahilite was able to interview Ukiah High Junior Gavin Wake, who drives one of the sweetest rides on campus. His 1991 Dodge Cummins is a sight to behold when entering any lot.

Arguably the coolest thing about this ride is that it rolls coal. Rolling coal is possible when one modifies their diesel engine in order to create a large amount of black or gray exhaust fumes.

Other modifications Wake has done include replacing the seats, tuning the pump (making sure all systems are clean and undamaged), and replacing the carpet in the cab. He also has plans to switch the stock Cummins transmission to a nv5600 transmission sealed (a 6 speed manual). Along with the major change, he will add a “bigger turbo and injectors, tint, and putting American forces with a 5-inch lift kit”.

Although Wake has been into cars his whole life he says, “my grandpa got me into the car community” and he hasn’t looked back since.

If you are interested in showing off your ride, DM us on Instagram @ukiahilite or email any author.
