Meet Beatriz Ortiz, known to Wildcat Nation as the friendly face behind the discipline office desk at Ukiah High. But what many aren’t aware of is her not-so-average family vehicle: a fully decked-out 2007 Ford Expedition, affectionately referred to as her “G-Wagon” for its versatility and reliability. It’s no wonder she caught the attention of UHS News for our new Mom Car Monday feature.

What sets Ortiz’s Expedition apart is its striking display of the Raider’s emblem, those iconic eye-patched pirates adorning the vehicle’s rear window, hitch cover, and even the floor mats.

For six years, Ortiz has navigated her faithful steed through daily commutes and long road trips, including a memorable excursion to Las Vegas where she caught a glimpse of the Raider’s Colosseum under construction. She remembered swiftly slipping in and out of the construction site before drawing attention.

Ford’s Expedition inherits the legacy of the beloved Ford Bronco, an SUV that defined an era. Unlike the Bronco’s rugged simplicity, the Expedition boasts creature comforts tailored for families and adventurers alike. With its spacious interior, accommodating up to seven passengers, it’s the ideal vehicle for both leisurely road trips and rugged off-road excursions.
