It’s Valentine’s Day this week and Wildcat couples are planning fun activities. We here at UHS News put our heads and hearts together to bring our classmates a few ideas for making your day of romance extra special in small-town Ukiah.
Star Gazing

For the outdoor couple: Get some blankets, snacks, and hot cocoa then head out to Lake Mendocino or another open-sky location you love and admire the night sky with your partner. Download the Sky Guide app so you and your date can identify the constellations above.
Downtown Day

For the preppy couple: Head to Downtown Ukiah to visit your favorite local shops such as Tango, Three Sisters, or Mendocino Book Company. After some shopping, treat your date to a coffee and a pastry at Schats! An amazing drink rec is an iced Vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso.
Picnic and Art

For the artsy/nature couple: Todd Grove or Low Gap Park are prime locations for your next date. Pack a bag with your favorite snacks, picnic blanket, and art supplies. Find a sunny spot, enjoy your snacks, and start an art project of your preference. If you’d like, you can each start an art piece and then switch every five minutes. In the end, you’ll have two art projects you created together!
Gym Date

For the sporty couple: For a gym date, you can match workout outfits, share gym playlists, and show each other your favorite workouts. Check out these workouts you can do with a partner to get fit together. After you’ve gotten your sweat on, follow up with a smoothie at the Co-Op or Smoothies Galore & More!
Fishing Date

For the country couple: Early in the morning, grab your fishing gear and go out to the Mill Creek Dams or Lake Mendocino and watch the sunrise while listening to your favorite music as the fish jump!
No matter what you choose, ensure you go the extra mile to make this special day with your loved one exceptionally memorable.
