This weekend’s eagerly anticipated showdown between Ukiah High and Cardinal Newman baseball at Oracle Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants, has been postponed due to rain.

Officials announced the game has been rescheduled to Monday, April 29, 2024, and the time has yet to be determined.

The National Weather Services predicts San Francisco will see showers and thunderstorms with possible hail around 2:00 p.m. The Wildcats and Cardinals were scheduled to take the field at 1:00 p.m. so calling a rain delay seems appropriate.

There’s one silver lining to this storm cloud, the rain delay gives Ukiah community members more time to purchase a ticket and support Wildcat baseball. Go here to purchase tickets for the historic event bringing together Ukiah’s Purple and Gold with San Francisco’s Black and Orange.
