Wildcat Wrestling Bout Turns Bloody

For Ukiah High School senior Audrey Lanzit, a nosebleed is no big deal. But, the nosebleed that takes the cake is recently when Lanzit’s nose began to spurt blood in the middle of a  wrestling match.

At the Napa Valley Classic Tournament on January 7, 2023, Lanzit began leaking blood from her left nostril while grappling with an opponent.  Lanzit’s team calls her a “bleeder” and  when asked why it happened she said simply, “it’s just what I do.”

After the bleeding began, referees gave Lanzit five minutes to clean up the blood and tend to her injury. Before resuming the match Lanzit had to  “put a nose plugin” but quickly after resuming wrestling “it ended up bleeding through.”

Then when requesting a second injury time-out, Lanzit got her nose taped so that she would not end up forfeiting the match.

Lanzit ultimately won the match and during her victory lap she threw up blood afterward because of having to hold it in.

Lanzit proves that Wildcats will push through the pain even when it’s running down their face.
