Last Friday’s rally was filled with energy and excitement as students gathered to show their school pride and eagerly participated in a variety of games. The friendly competition encouraged everyone to get involved, whether in the games or cheering from the bleachers.
The Ukiah High Golden Cats gave an excellent performance, kicking off the rally with high energy. The team brought lots of spirit and excited the school for the upcoming activities.

Thanks to the UHS Leadership class, the rally consisted of many fun games such as hula hoop toss, guess the price, and musical chairs. The hula hoop toss was the opening contest of the rally. With the winning toss, James Herman secured the win for the Freshman class. Guess the price followed, in which Leadership presented items and volunteers tried to guess their worth. Students in the bleachers took part by calling out guesses. The Juniors won guess the price by winning three out of the four rounds. The games concluded with high-energy musical chairs that quickly became a crowd favorite. Volunteers competed mightily to be the last participant remaining. The Junior class finally won, with Bryce Meiggs securing the last spot.
A dance battle was held to conclude the rally, with one representative from each grade facing off in a dance competition against Willy the Wildcat. Music filled the gym as students danced.

Events like this play an important role in keeping school spirit alive and connecting students outside of the classroom. As the final months of school begin, this kind of gathering offers a motivating finish while reminding students of the community they’ve built this school year.
