Ukiah High Sophomore Willow Morrison loves her car and takes pride in her 2010 Volkswagen Golf Mk6 that has multiple modifications.
Morrison’s modifications include a modified exhaust system, Injen cold air intake, a turbocharger, and a red interior theme. Morrison says that she hopes to add more in the future including a red racing stripe on the hood, a wing, custom emblems on the body, and 16’ rims.
Morrison’s Mk6’s exhaust is modified. Morrison likes the modification because, “it ‘unleashes’ the full power of my engine and makes my car a bit louder.
Morrison’s red interior theme is brought about through her red seat and steering wheel cover, a red shifter knob, and red trim accents.
Morrison told us she became interested in the car community about six years ago when “I worked on my friend’s 2016 Toyota Tacoma a lot and he showed me basically everything I know! She told us, “The Fast and Furious franchise also really motivated me.” She characterized the car community as “really supportive and friendly.”
Morrison said, “I am loyal to Volkswagen because they’re super reliable and this Golf has been by my side for a long time.”
Currently, Morrison’s Mk6 is in the shop to get window tint and new wheels installed and an oil change. She also plans on installing black headlight tinting in the future.
Morrison said that if you might be interested in joining a car community, “just go for it, the car community is super supportive and caring, you meet plenty of people who share your passion. Morrison recommends starting by “going directly to social media and starting a car page or trying to find a local car club.”
